Our bodies detox, heal, and repair overnight. However we are fasting overnight and also become dehydrated. The most important thing you can do upon waking in the morning, in my opinion, is to rehydrate! I drink two 16-ounce glasses of water with a half a lemon or lime squeezed into them. The lemon or lime adds electrolytes, antioxidants, vitamin C and is very rehydrating to your body. It helps flush the kidneys, liver and lymphatic system… thus supporting your detoxification and immune systems! Really, optimally rehydration supports all aspects of your health. And most people are chronically dehydrated.
Another part of my morning routine is coffee. There are health benefits to coffee if it’s a reasonable amount. I drink organic, half-caff, and dark roast. Dark roast coffee typically has less caffeine in it then light roast and to me has a much stronger more robust coffee taste. Although I am predominately a black coffee drinker, I sometimes add a little bit of local, unfiltered, raw honey which has multiple health benefits to the body. I will also frequently add raw cocoa powder because I love cocoa and coffee together… And there are some amazing health benefits to raw cocoa as well.
In this video I also discussed two nutrients that I generally take in the morning… One is pomegranate and the other is a mushroom combination. Pomegranate is fantastic for your cardiovascular and urogenital systems…Especially in women but also in men to some degree! It’s an antioxidant and has many health benefits. Stamets 7 is an immune support formula that uses a combination of mushrooms to help strengthen and support and modulate the immune system. Paul Stamets is probably the leading mycologist in the world and this formula is available retail and most health food stores. I also use a company called JHS naturals….their Immune Builder formula. They only sell two doctors however. It’s very important you select the right company for mushroom combinations because how the mushrooms are extracted is very important.
After hydrating in the morning, I have my morning coffee which I use as part of my morning quiet time. I generally wake up early, sit outside somewhere and just begin my day quietly. Sometimes I will watch YouTube videos of people like Abraham Hicks, Wayne Dyer, or listen to podcasts from people like Tim Ferriss or Joe Rogan to get my mind right and start my day in a fantastic manner. Then I will rehydrate again after coffee, take the nutrients I shared with you, meditate and start my day!

Great advice! I hear all of the time about how we don’t hydrate enough. But appreciate an example of how you solve that. You have a great routine!
